Wolframite
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Wolframite is a mineral-series name covering iron-manganese tungstates between ferberite (FeWO₄) and hübnerite (MnWO₄). It is typically dark brown to black, dense, and metallic to submetallic.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms in high-temperature hydrothermal quartz veins, greisens, and granitic pegmatites associated with tin-tungsten mineralization.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Wolframite is traditionally associated with grounding, protection, discernment, and emotional steadiness. Its dense metallic character is traditionally interpreted as a reminder to keep abstract goals connected to practical reality. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for staying centered when circumstances feel intense, distracting, or uncertain. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
