Vivianite
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Vivianite is hydrated iron phosphate, Fe₃(PO₄)₂·8H₂O. Fresh crystals may be colorless to pale green but darken through blue-green to deep blue as iron oxidizes.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms in reducing, phosphate-rich environments such as bogs, lake sediments, fossil material, iron deposits, and hydrothermal veins.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Vivianite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
