Turritella Agate

Turritella Agate

Turritella Agate

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Turritella Agate is a trade name for fossiliferous chalcedony from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. The visible shells are mostly freshwater snails of the genus Elimia, not marine Turritella.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Eocene freshwater lake sediments containing abundant gastropod shells were buried, lithified, and silicified, producing a durable brown chalcedony-rich fossil rock.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Turritella Agate is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its slowly accumulated silica textures provide a visual metaphor for stability built through repeated small changes rather than one sudden event. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
