Tiger Eye
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Tiger Eye is a chatoyant quartz-rich material formed by silica replacement of fibrous amphibole, with iron oxidation producing golden to brown colors. Its moving silky band results from preserved parallel fibrous texture.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms in metamorphic iron-rich rocks where fibrous amphibole veins are progressively replaced by quartz and iron oxides. South Africa is the classic major source.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Tiger Eye is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
