Stichtite
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Stichtite is a hydrated magnesium chromium carbonate mineral, Mg₆Cr₂(OH)₁₆CO₃·4H₂O, typically lilac, purple, pink, or violet in massive or platy material.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms through alteration of chromite in serpentinized ultramafic rocks, commonly intergrown with green serpentine. Tasmania is the classic source.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Stichtite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
