Steatite (Soapstone)

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Steatite, or soapstone, is a very soft metamorphic rock dominated by talc with variable chlorite, magnesite, carbonate, amphibole, and other minerals.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms through metamorphism and hydrothermal alteration of magnesium-rich ultramafic rocks and dolomitic carbonates.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Steatite (Soapstone) is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.

ACCURACY / TRADE-NAME NOTE
Rock, not a single mineral. Talc-rich dust should not be deliberately inhaled.
