Staurolite
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Staurolite is an iron-magnesium aluminum silicate mineral that commonly forms brown to reddish-brown prismatic crystals and characteristic cruciform twins.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It is an index mineral of medium-grade regional metamorphism in aluminum-rich schists and gneisses, often with garnet, kyanite, mica, and quartz.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Staurolite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
