Siderite

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Siderite is iron carbonate, FeCO₃, crystallizing in the trigonal system. It forms tan, brown, yellow-brown, gray, or greenish rhombohedral and curved crystals.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms in hydrothermal veins, sedimentary iron formations, carbonate concretions, and metamorphic rocks, commonly with quartz, sulfides, barite, and calcite.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Siderite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
