Scolecite
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Scolecite is a hydrated calcium zeolite, CaAl₂Si₃O₁₀·3H₂O, forming slender white, colorless, or pale prismatic needles and radiating sprays.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms in basalt cavities and low-temperature hydrothermal environments with stilbite, mesolite, apophyllite, calcite, and other zeolites.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Scolecite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
