Saussurite

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Saussurite is a fine-grained metamorphic alteration aggregate rather than a single mineral. It develops when calcium-rich plagioclase alters to mixtures of epidote/zoisite, albite, sericite, chlorite, and other minerals.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms during hydrothermal alteration and low- to medium-grade metamorphism of gabbro, basalt, and other plagioclase-rich rocks.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Saussurite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.

ACCURACY / TRADE-NAME NOTE
Rock/alteration term, not a mineral species. Exact mineral mixture varies.
