Sanidine
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Sanidine is a high-temperature potassium-rich alkali feldspar, (K,Na)AlSi₃O₈, crystallizing in the monoclinic system. It occurs as glassy colorless, white, gray, or pale crystals in volcanic rocks.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It crystallizes rapidly from high-temperature felsic magma and is characteristic of rhyolite, trachyte, phonolite, and volcanic tuffs.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Sanidine is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
