Rhyolite
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Rhyolite is a trade or locality variety of rhyolite, a silica-rich volcanic rock dominated by feldspar and quartz with variable glass and accessory minerals. It is a rock, not a mineral.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Rhyolite forms from felsic magma erupted at or near the surface. Rapid cooling, spherulitic crystallization, brecciation, and later hydrothermal alteration can create complex patterns.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Rhyolite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
