Pyrophyllite
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Pyrophyllite is a very soft aluminum silicate hydroxide sheet mineral, Al₂Si₄O₁₀(OH)₂. It occurs as pearly white, gray, greenish, or yellow foliated and compact masses.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms in hydrothermally altered felsic volcanic rocks and high-alumina metamorphic rocks, especially under acidic alteration conditions.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Pyrophyllite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
