Preseli Bluestone is a cultural/geological trade term for certain dolerite and related igneous rocks from the Preseli Hills of Wales. It is a rock made mainly of plagioclase and pyroxene, not a mineral.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
The dolerite crystallized from mafic magma in Ordovician igneous intrusions. Some Stonehenge bluestones have been geochemically linked to Preseli-area sources.
