Peanut Wood
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Peanut Wood is silicified fossil wood from Western Australia displaying white to cream oval features inside a dark matrix. The 'peanuts' are infilled boreholes made in the original driftwood by marine wood-boring organisms.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Cretaceous wood was bored in a marine setting, buried in sediment, and later silicified. The borings were filled with pale sediment and microfossil-rich material before fossilization.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Peanut Wood is traditionally associated with ancient perspective, patience, continuity, and grounded reflection. Its preserved geological or biological history makes it a direct symbol of deep time, continuity, and adaptation. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for placing present challenges within a longer timeline and learning from accumulated experience. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.

ACCURACY / TRADE-NAME NOTE
Fossil wood, not jasper in the strict mineralogical sense. The pale ovals are trace-fossil borings.
