Orthoclase

Orthoclase

Orthoclase

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Orthoclase is potassium feldspar, KAlSi₃O₈, crystallizing in the monoclinic system. It commonly occurs as white, cream, pink, tan, yellow, or colorless blocky crystals with two good cleavages.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It is a major rock-forming mineral of granites, syenites, pegmatites, and some metamorphic rocks, crystallizing from potassium-rich felsic magmas and recrystallizing during metamorphism.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Orthoclase is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
