Orpiment is arsenic trisulfide, As₂S₃, and forms bright lemon-yellow to orange foliated, earthy, or prismatic material. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system and has perfect cleavage.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms in low-temperature hydrothermal veins, hot-spring deposits, volcanic fumaroles, and arsenic-rich ore systems, often with realgar, stibnite, and calcite.
