Okenite

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Okenite is a hydrated calcium silicate mineral, commonly Ca₁₀Si₁₈O₄₆·18H₂O, famous for white cotton-ball-like fibrous aggregates. It crystallizes in the triclinic system and is very soft.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It forms as a low-temperature secondary mineral in basalt cavities and hydrothermal veins, commonly with zeolites, apophyllite, calcite, and gyrolite. India is the classic commercial source.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Okenite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
