Noble Shungite is the commercial term for lustrous, unusually carbon-rich shungite from Karelia, Russia. It is a carbon-rich rock rather than a crystalline carbon mineral.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It occurs in Precambrian sedimentary-metamorphic sequences around Lake Onega and represents a highly carbon-enriched variety within the broader shungite rock family.
