Muscovite
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Muscovite is a potassium aluminum mica, KAl₂(AlSi₃O₁₀)(OH)₂, characterized by perfect basal cleavage into thin elastic sheets. It occurs in colorless, silver, pale green, pink, brown, and other light tones.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Muscovite is common in granites, pegmatites, schists, gneisses, and hydrothermal alteration zones. Large mica books develop especially in coarse granitic pegmatites.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Muscovite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
