Mottramite
SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Mottramite is a lead-copper vanadate hydroxide mineral, PbCu(VO₄)(OH), in the descloizite group. It usually occurs as olive-green, brown, blackish, botryoidal, crust-like, or tiny crystalline material.
GEOLOGY & FORMATION
It is a secondary mineral of oxidized lead-copper-vanadium deposits and forms with vanadinite, descloizite, wulfenite, mimetite, and other supergene minerals.
METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Mottramite is traditionally associated with clarity, balance, resilience, and intentional personal growth. Its natural structure, color, and geological history provide a symbolic framework for approaching change with greater awareness. Practitioners commonly use it as a contemplative aid for reflecting on priorities and choosing a more deliberate response instead of reacting automatically. These associations are part of crystal traditions and are not scientifically established medical effects.
