Luxullianite

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Luxullianite is a distinctive tourmaline-rich granite from Cornwall, England. It contains quartz and feldspar with abundant black schorl tourmaline and commonly altered mica. It is a rock rather than a single mineral species and is known for dramatic black tourmaline needles and clusters within a pale to pink granitic matrix.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Luxullianite formed within the Cornubian granite batholith when boron-rich late-stage magmatic and hydrothermal fluids altered granite and promoted abundant tourmaline growth. The classic locality is around Luxulyan in Cornwall, where tourmalinization produced a distinctive local rock variety.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Luxullianite is traditionally associated with protection, grounding, focus, resilience, and maintaining clarity while navigating complex environments. Its intergrowth of quartz, feldspar, and black tourmaline provides symbolism of stability strengthened by internal structure.
