Lemon Calcite

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Lemon Calcite is a pale to vivid yellow-green color variety of calcite, CaCO₃. Calcite crystallizes in the trigonal system, has perfect rhombohedral cleavage, and a Mohs hardness of 3. Yellow color can be produced by iron-bearing impurities, structural defects, or other trace components depending on the deposit.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Lemon-colored calcite forms in hydrothermal veins, carbonate sedimentary rocks, caves, and ore deposits where calcium-carbonate-rich fluids precipitate crystals or massive material. Commercial specimens come from Pakistan, Mexico, China, and other major calcite-producing regions.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Lemon Calcite is traditionally associated with optimism, mental clarity, confidence, motivation, and approaching decisions with a lighter perspective. Its yellow-green color bridges solar-plexus themes of action with the freshness and growth symbolism associated with green.
