Kambaba Jasper

Kambaba Jasper

Kambaba Jasper

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Kambaba Jasper is a trade name for a dark green to black orbicular decorative rock from Madagascar. Despite repeated claims that it is fossil stromatolite, petrographic descriptions of commercial Kambaba commonly identify it as a volcanic or volcaniclastic silica-rich rock with green minerals such as aegirine or amphibole and dark orbicular textures. It is not a formal jasper species.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
The material is associated with Madagascar's igneous and metamorphic terrains. Rounded dark-green and black patterns reflect mineral segregation, orbicular growth, alteration, and silica-rich rock textures rather than preserved microbial laminations in the classic stromatolite sense. Exact mineralogy varies among commercial lots.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Kambaba Jasper is traditionally associated with calm, grounding, patience, resilience, and connection with the natural world. Its dark green orbicular patterns create symbolism of slow cycles and repeating growth. It is often used for steadying attention and reducing the urge to rush long-term processes.

ACCURACY / TRADE-NAME NOTE
Trade-name rock. Do not present it as a scientifically confirmed stromatolite fossil without specimen-specific evidence.
