Indigo Gabbro is a commercial name for a dark, mottled intrusive igneous rock, especially material from Madagascar. It is composed of interlocking feldspar, pyroxene, and other mafic minerals, with lighter gray to lavender areas created by mineral proportions and alteration. 'Mystic Merlinite' is a metaphysical trade name and should not be confused with the separate dendritic opal material historically sold as Merlinite.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Gabbroic rocks crystallize slowly from mafic magma below Earth's surface, allowing coarse interlocking crystals to develop. Madagascar material may be compositionally closer to gabbro, monzonitic, or related intrusive rocks depending on the quarry, so exact petrology requires thin-section or chemical analysis.
