Hilutite

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Hilutite is a trade name for quartz-rich material from Sri Lanka containing visible inclusions reported as zircon, goethite, and garnet. The host is quartz, SiO₂, while red, pink, and brown coloration reflects the included mineral phases. It is a composite included-quartz material rather than a formal mineral species.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
The material formed where quartz crystallized or recrystallized in an environment containing accessory zircon, iron oxyhydroxides, and garnet. These minerals became trapped as inclusions or fine dispersed phases within the quartz-rich body. Commercial Hilutite entered the gem and metaphysical market in the late 2000s.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Hilutite is traditionally associated with grounding, emotional integration, compassion, creativity, and bringing higher ideals into practical life. The quartz host symbolizes clarity, while garnet and iron-rich inclusions add themes of embodiment and motivation.
