Harquahala is a locality trade name for an ornamental rock from southwestern Arizona containing green epidote within a pink granitic matrix. The pink host is feldspar-rich granite or granitic rock rather than one mineral, while epidote supplies contrasting pistachio-green areas. The material is therefore a multi-mineral rock.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
The rock comes from the Harquahala Mountains region of Arizona, where granitic rocks were affected by hydrothermal and metamorphic alteration that produced epidote. The contrasting pink feldspar-rich host and green epidote record interaction between original igneous minerals and later calcium-iron-rich fluids.
