SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Dallasite is a regional lapidary trade name for colorful silica-rich brecciated volcanic rock from Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It is not a formal mineral species. The material commonly contains altered volcanic fragments, quartz and chalcedony, feldspar, epidote-group minerals, iron oxides, and other secondary phases that produce white, green, red, brown, and black patterns.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Dallasite formed through brecciation and hydrothermal alteration of volcanic rocks, followed by silica-rich mineralization that cemented and replaced portions of the original rock. Multiple episodes of fracturing and fluid flow created its complex mosaic texture. Beach-worn and stream-rounded pieces are collected in parts of Vancouver Island.

Dallasite is traditionally associated with resilience, grounding, rebuilding, and finding strength through complexity. Its brecciated structure provides a clear symbolic theme: many disrupted fragments can become part of a stable new whole. It is often used for reflection during recovery or major restructuring.
