Cyanotrichite is a hydrated copper aluminum sulfate hydroxide mineral, commonly written Cu₄Al₂(SO₄)(OH)₁₂·2H₂O. It forms extremely delicate sky-blue to azure fibrous tufts, velvety crusts, and radiating aggregates. The color comes from copper within the mineral structure.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Cyanotrichite forms as a secondary mineral in the oxidized zones of copper deposits, especially in sulfate-rich conditions. It commonly grows with azurite, brochantite, malachite, chalcoalumite, and other secondary copper minerals. Fine specimens occur in France, Romania, Morocco, the United States, and several other copper districts.
