Chrysanthemum Stone is a decorative rock recognized by pale flower-like crystal patterns within a darker matrix. It is not one mineral species; depending on locality, the 'petals' may include celestine, calcite, andalusite, or related mineral phases within limestone, dolostone, or fine sedimentary host rock. The floral appearance is entirely geological rather than biological.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
The flower patterns form when minerals crystallize radially along fractures, concretions, or growth centers inside sedimentary or metamorphosed carbonate rocks. Later weathering or polishing reveals cross-sections through these radiating aggregates. Classic Chinese material is especially associated with Hunan and surrounding regions.
