Candle Quartz

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Candle Quartz is a trade name for quartz crystals whose main central point is partly covered by later generations of smaller quartz growth, creating a wax-dripped or pineapple-like surface. Mineralogically it remains quartz, SiO₂. It is related in appearance to spirit/cactus quartz but differs in the arrangement and orientation of secondary growth.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
The texture forms through multiple stages of hydrothermal quartz crystallization. A primary crystal develops first, followed by renewed silica deposition on its outer faces under changed fluid conditions. Commercial Candle Quartz is especially associated with Madagascar, with similar growth habits reported from other quartz-producing regions.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Candle Quartz is traditionally associated with grounding spiritual insight, patience, ancestral reflection, and stable personal growth. Its layered generations of crystal growth make it a strong symbol of experience accumulating over time. It is often used for reflecting on lessons from the past without remaining trapped in them.
