Cacoxenite is a hydrated iron-aluminum phosphate mineral with a complex formula commonly written Fe³⁺₂₄AlO₆(PO₄)₁₇(OH)₁₂·75H₂O. It crystallizes in the hexagonal system and typically appears as golden-yellow, brown, orange, or greenish acicular crystals arranged in radiating sprays, tufts, coatings, or spherical aggregates.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Cacoxenite is a secondary mineral found in oxidized phosphate- and iron-rich environments. It occurs in altered iron deposits, phosphate-rich pegmatites, novaculites, and some sedimentary settings. It may occur as inclusions or associated crystals in quartz, but claims that visible inclusions in every marketed “Super Seven” specimen are cacoxenite require analytical confirmation.
