Breche Agate, also called Breccia Agate or Brecciated Agate, is an agate- and chalcedony-rich breccia rather than a separate mineral species. It consists of angular fragments of earlier silica-rich material that were broken and later cemented together by additional chalcedony, quartz, iron oxides, or other mineral matter. The resulting stone often shows dramatic fractured mosaics in white, brown, red, gray, black, and yellow tones.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Brecciation occurs when already-formed rock is physically fractured by faulting, collapse, volcanic activity, impact, or other geological stress. Later mineral-bearing fluids move through the broken rock and cement the fragments together. When chalcedony and agate dominate the fragments and cement, the result can develop the characteristic patterned material sold as Breche Agate. Commercial specimens are notably associated with Madagascar, though brecciated agates occur in many regions.

Breche Agate is traditionally associated with rebuilding, resilience, grounding, and regaining confidence after disruption. Its geology provides an especially fitting symbolic theme: broken fragments are not erased, but become incorporated into a new and stronger whole. Practitioners often use it for reflection during recovery, major life changes, or periods when stability must be reconstructed rather than simply restored to its previous form.
