Blue Scheelite

SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Despite its name, Blue Scheelite is not scheelite. It is a trade name for a blue-and-white carbonate rock composed mainly of calcite and dolomite, commonly sold as “Lapis Lace Onyx.” The blue coloration is associated with the carbonate material and impurities; fluorescence contributed to its original misidentification as scheelite.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Commercial Blue Scheelite is associated with a Turkish deposit where calcite and dolomite occur together in patterned massive material. Because it is a mixed carbonate rock rather than CaWO₄ scheelite, its physical properties vary with the proportions and textures of its components.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Blue Scheelite is traditionally associated with calming the mind, grounding abstract ideas, balancing emotion with logic, and communicating from a more centered state. Its contrasting blue and white patterns make it a visual symbol of integrating different perspectives without forcing them into uniformity.

KEY PROPERTIES
Calm • Grounding • Balance • Communication • Clarity • Integration • Emotional stability

CHAKRA: Throat • Third Eye • Root
ELEMENT: Earth • Air
ZODIAC: All Zodiac Signs
MOHS HARDNESS: Variable; commonly ~3–4

ACCURACY / TRADE-NAME NOTE
Important: trade name only. It is a calcite-dolomite material, not the tungsten mineral scheelite.
