SCIENCE / MINERALOGY
Anorthosite is an igneous rock, not a single mineral species. It is composed predominantly of plagioclase feldspar, generally more than 90% by volume, with smaller amounts of pyroxene, olivine, iron-titanium oxides, and other minerals. Its appearance ranges from pale gray and white to dark gray, sometimes with blue or iridescent feldspar effects.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Large anorthosite bodies formed when plagioclase crystals separated and accumulated from magma, particularly in ancient crustal magmatic systems. Anorthosite is also famous beyond Earth: plagioclase-rich anorthositic rocks make up much of the lunar highlands. Major terrestrial complexes occur in Canada, Norway, Greenland, the United States, and elsewhere.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Anorthosite is traditionally associated with perspective, grounding, resilience, and exploring one's place within a larger system. Its connection with very old crustal rocks—and with the Moon's highlands—gives it strong symbolism around deep time, endurance, and expanding perspective beyond immediate concerns. It is often used for reflection during major transitions or long-term planning.
