Angelite is the trade name for compact, fine-grained blue anhydrite, CaSO₄. Anhydrite crystallizes in the orthorhombic system and is the water-free calcium sulfate counterpart of gypsum. Angelite's powdery blue to blue-gray color is typically associated with massive anhydrite material rather than transparent crystals.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Anhydrite commonly forms in evaporite deposits as seawater or saline basin waters evaporate, and it can also develop through dehydration of gypsum during burial or heating. Exposure to moisture can promote conversion back toward gypsum, which is why Angelite should be kept away from prolonged water contact.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Angelite is traditionally associated with peaceful communication, intuition, compassion, and contemplative spiritual practice. Its soft blue color links it strongly with the symbolism of a calm voice and receptive listening. It is often used when trying to communicate gently, reduce emotional reactivity, or create a quieter mental environment for meditation and dream work.
