Amblygonite is a lithium-aluminum phosphate mineral in a solid-solution series with montebrasite. The simplified formula is (Li,Na)AlPO₄(F,OH), with amblygonite representing the more fluorine-rich side and montebrasite the more hydroxyl-rich side. It can occur in white, cream, pale yellow, green, blue, or pinkish tones.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Amblygonite and montebrasite form primarily in lithium-rich granitic pegmatites, where highly evolved residual magmas concentrate lithium, phosphorus, fluorine, and other incompatible elements. They commonly occur with spodumene, lepidolite, tourmaline, quartz, feldspar, and other pegmatite minerals.
