Amber is fossilized tree resin, an organic gem material rather than a mineral because it lacks a fixed crystalline structure and uniform chemical formula. It is composed primarily of complex polymerized organic compounds and may preserve plant material, insects, bubbles, or other ancient inclusions.

GEOLOGY & FORMATION
Amber begins as resin secreted by ancient trees. Burial, pressure, oxidation, and polymerization gradually transform resin into copal and, over geologic time, mature amber. Major deposits include the Baltic region, the Dominican Republic, Myanmar, Mexico, and other sedimentary basins containing resin-bearing strata.

METAPHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Amber is traditionally associated with warmth, vitality, optimism, protection, and ancestral connection. Because it originates as living-tree resin and preserves ancient organic material, it is often treated symbolically as a bridge between life, Earth, and deep time.
